GENERAL NOTES
Staging
Gotharama can be adapted to suit a range of spaces including cabaret rooms, studio style and »black box«theatres, raked theatres using a mix of raked and table seating, intimate proscenium arch theatres, and irregular sized venues.
In Cabaret Setting: Gotharama is ideally staged with full cabaret seating, around a thrust stage extending into the seating area. The space ideally will seat between 100 - 250 patrons and bar service will be available prior to the performance, and during interval, with patrons able to bring their drinks into the performance space. Gotharama establishes a «gothic parlour» within the performance space; tapestry covered tables, fortune teller games and conversation pieces on tables, and The Pianist playing Parlour Music from doors opening.
In Theatre Setting: Gotharama is ideally staged in an intimate raked theatre, seating approx 300-400. For example Gotharama has been very successfully staged in the studio theatre The Fairfax, at the Victorian Arts Centre.
Minimum Dimensions
Gotharama is able to be adapted to suit a range of spaces. Minimum space dimensions are as follows:
- Minimum ceiling height: (floor to LX grid) should be no less that 3800mm; ideally the height from floor to grid should be 4m or more.
- Performance is staged in a thrust arrangement. Minimum stage footprint seven meters (width) by five meters (depth)
- Minimum stage height: 400mm. Minimum Pianist stage height 200mm
- Minimum space dimensions: These are dependant on style of space (cabaret, raked seating, studio etc). Generally, the venue should be able to contain the stage, and audience in front of and to either side of the stage.
If your venue does not meet these minimum dimensions, Gotharama may be able to be adapted to suit venue specifications. Please contact Production Manager as soon as possible to discuss your venue specifications.

Show Elements
Gothorama is a wet show. First act contains a rain effect and the second act a large blood effect. Further distances can be accommodated but notification will be required. More than 95% of all liquids on stage are retained in the collection tray but we do advise that a layer of black builder's film is laid between the rostra and the venue floor.
Warnings: Gothorama uses a two-stage (remote compressor) high output stage hazer and strobe lighting. The presenting venue is responsible for notifying its patrons.
